Indian consumer electronics brand Mivi is expanding beyond its popular audio product lineup and entering the highly competitive smartphone market. The company has officially confirmed that it will launch its first 5G smartphone in India in September.
Mivi’s entry comes shortly after Indian smartwatch brand Fire-Boltt ventured into the smartphone segment with the launch of the Boltt Ace and Boltt Evo smartphones.
Mivi Confirms Its First Smartphone
Mivi confirmed its smartphone plans through an official post on X, revealing that its upcoming device will support 5G connectivity and be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
The teaser shared by the company provides a glimpse of the phone’s design. The handset appears in a green colour option and features a flat rear panel along with a flat frame and rounded corners.
Mivi is promoting the upcoming smartphone with the “Pretty Powerful” tagline, which could be a reference to the Snapdragon processor powering the device.
The company is expected to reveal additional specifications and features ahead of the official launch.
Expected Price Under ₹15,000
According to a recent report, Mivi’s first smartphone could be priced below ₹15,000 in India. If the information is accurate, the company could be targeting one of the country’s most competitive smartphone price segments.
The report also claims that the upcoming Mivi smartphone could be the only phone in this price range in India to feature a Snapdragon chipset, potentially giving it an advantage over competing devices.
However, Mivi has not yet officially confirmed the smartphone’s price or complete specifications.
Mivi Moves Beyond Audio Products
Mivi has established itself as an Indian consumer electronics brand, particularly in the audio segment. Its product portfolio includes Bluetooth speakers, TWS earbuds, soundbars and home theatre systems.
